Weekends_
I get free time off from work so rarely, that every time it happens I try to make most out of it and explore paris more, so I would feel less like a tourist.
Last weekend me and M visited Alaia's world famous exhibition at Musee Galliera and I almost had a heartattack when Alaia himself entered with Tisci, friends and family. He explained every piece in such a detail and we were lucky enough to hear it too. What an extraordinarey man. He's been someone who I look up to since forever and it was super overwhelming to see exhibition and himself all in one. M persuader me to walk up to him as we were all leaving museum and at first it felt too much of a annoying groupie thing to do, but in the end I still did.. I feel its so important to say out things that you think and if you visit any museum and you get such a positive emotion out of it and the artist is there- its the greatest gift for them to hear that. Alaia was so-so sweet and by the looks of it, really touched and happy. There were so many people inside and queuing but no one recognised him, security guards didnt even let him in. So sad and beautiful at the same time- to have such an honour to show in world famous fashion museum, see most beautiful exhibition of your clothes, see hundreds people queuing and still feel so small, unimportant and unknown.
Anyway- if you have a chance to pay a visit, then GO GO GO.
Exhibition continued at Palais de Tokyo, which is probably one of my most favourite spots in Paris. While all other buildings, streets and especially galleries are so polished, it comes across somehow so fresh with its graffiti walls, skaters, homeless people sleeping in front of it and some of the most exciting are beings shown inside of it. Also, there are two fantastic looking restaurants there- tokyo eat and monsieur blue. We had drinks and dinner at tokyo eat this night and returned to mr blue next day to pick up my lost bank card that I had left there the other night. Atmosphere was wonderful, food was average, price on a higher end, but still worth a visit just because of the overall feel that you get at Palais de tokyo.
Also, falafel has become my little big addiction here. Not any falafel, just the one that you can get at one tiny counter as take away in Marais. Best I ever had!
I've been to cinema with Balmainia family probably more than Ive been in a last 6 months with anyone else, had a few nice dinners in last few weeks, a picnic at park, said good bye to my new found Parisian estonian friend Äli( sweetest girl I met in a long time, its a start of great long friendship i hope) who moved to NYC, had a brain stormer with other great Estonians in Paris( that you can read about in nest weeks Eesti Päevaleht saturday edition) and a wonderful dinner with some other friends from home. Im not gonna mention the km that I have walked in Paris just to learn more about the city. Life's good, im not complaining.
