What's your perfect hideout like?

..Cause that's probably what mine looks like.

Yesterday, we spent a whole day driving, mostly off-road. Looking for hidden gems and discovering many. Driving through tiny old town where phone signal didn't exists and admiring people, nature and animals we saw on the way made me see this island in a new light.

I was also glad I had chance to visit couple of beautiful old mythological spots. Cyprus's history is filled with wonderful Greek mythological tales that make many places almost magical.

We visited Aphrodite's birthplace, Baths of Aphrodite, took off-road super dangerous trip to Blue Lagoon, where we swam, watched fishermen and got stuck in this beauty for quite a while. Lunch at local taverna was ever so delicious and after getting lost in little villages, counting goats who jumped around beautiful mountains, we ended our day by jumping off trees and cliffs around Adonis baths. It was a place were two lovers, Aphrodite / Goddess of Love and Adonis/ God of beauty and desire, met, loved and had many children. Swimming in the baths is supposed to preserve woman's youth and strengthen the men. While swimming in Baths of Aphrodite, were she met Adonis under wild fig trees and flowers, would make any woman fertile.

I am sure there's not much truth in these mythological legends, but I love when places and things got stories behind them and I am a true romantic soul. So it's no wonder being able to visit, see and experience the beauty of it made me a happiest girl in that moment.
